The grand Yangtze River is a landmark of Wuhan. As the first time that the Chinese people have constructed the Yangtze River, connecting the south and north banks of the Yangtze River. Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge is the first double-deck road-rail bridge on the Yangtze River. The length of the bridge is around 1670 meters. The upper layer is responsible for two-way and four-lane road transportation, and the lower layer is responsible for the two-lane track. The bridge has 8 abutments and 9 holes, each with a span of 128 meters. The bridge starts from Guishan (Guishan) in the north and ends at Qingjiu Mountain (Sheshan) in the south. It is an important traffic road in Wuhan. The Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge has greatly improved the traffic conditions in accelerated the connection between North China and South China

 

The construction plan of the bridge was generated planned in the year of 1910. A total of four exploratory surveys were conducted between 1913 and 1948 to determine suitable locations, but economic constraints and the combination of World War II and the Chinese Civil War hindered bridge construction until the 1950s. Construction of the Yangtze River Bridge officially started on September 1, 1955.
